During my last visit to India, I had also visited McLeod Ganj in the Himalayas, home of the exiled Dalai Lama.
Transportation: From Delhi I took the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Night deluxe Bus. Return bus to Delhi I took a night bus again.
Hotel: When you get off the bus at McLeod Ganj, there are plenty of people asking if you need a room, check a few and decide.
Food: Plenty of small cafes, great food. Pick one, Momo (dumpling) is a popular cafe food.
Safety: I found McLeod Ganj to be safe, be careful of your belongings.
