Buenos Aires Argentina Travel

Buenos Aires - Argentina

Buenos Aires, the capital of  Argentina is a lively city with lots to see and do. Well my Plan was to spend 3 days in Buenos Aires, things don't always work out as planned and with bad weather and flight delays, my time in Buenos Aires was cut short by 2 days.

Airport and immigration

U.S. citizens don't need a visa for visits of up to 90 days for tourism, The process is simple, though expect long line, kind of reminded me of Cancun Airport immigration

There are ATM machines at the Airport.

Airport Taxi - As you exit the immigration, there are car rental and taxi booths, don't stop at those, exit the Baggage claim area and you'll see the main Taxi booth, book your taxi there, its a fixed price.

Stay- I stayed at America del Sur Hostel Buenos Aires, clean comfortable and really good breakfast.

Transportation - I used metered Taxi, cheap and safe

Picture above is Café Tortoni, located a few blocks from the presidential palace, Casa Rosada, and Plaza de Mayo. It's a favorite hangout of the cultural elite. The cafe has live tango and other performances.

Did the city walking tour, as with most cities BA has a good walking tour it starts at the Congress Building  and ends at the Pink Government house.

Congress Building

The tour goes through Avenida 9 de Julio, also known as July 9th Avenue, is the widest avenue in the world. The avenue is also known for the Obelisk of Buenos Aires, which was inaugurated in 1936. The Obelisk is located at the intersection of Avenida 9 de Julio and Avenida Corrientes.

The Buenos Aires Metropolitan Cathedral is the main Catholic church in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It's located in the city center, overlooking Plaza de Mayo.

Due to flight delays, did miss the chance to go to Uruguay, though I did go the ferry terminal in BA, the ferry to Uruguay leave early in the mornings.

After 2 days of excitement in BA, took a flight to Ushuaia, the flight did stop in El Calafate which is a city in Patagonia, Argentina.

  1. My cousin has shared some of the memorable experiences she had about Buenos Aires - Argentina. I never believed until I read this article. The similarities are on point. She said everything looked simple and well-organised to the point she extremely enjoyed her stay at Aires.
