Stay: I stayed near Westbahnhof it was very Central, staying near the Cities Major train station that also has a Subway Stop is very ideal, there is also an Airport Bus that leaves from Westbahnhof, for me its all about the location and the conveniences its offers, you can find several reasonably priced eating Places around Train stations.
Vienna has a tourist hop on hop off bus, a great way to see the city.
